Inspired by a love of classic video games, Boss Monster: The Dungeon Building Card Game pits 2-4 players in a competition to build the ultimate side-scrolling dungeon. Players compete to lure and destroy hapless adventurers, racing to outbid one another to see who can build the most enticing, treasure-filled dungeon. The goal of Boss Monster is to be the first Boss to amass ten Souls, which are gained when a Hero is lured and defeated — but a player can lose if his Boss takes five Wounds from Heroes who survive his dungeon.
You play as a Boss, the final monster, at the end of your dungeon level. Customize your level to entice some unsuspecting heroes into a dungeon filled with the most effective traps. Trick other heroes into attacking your opponents to clear a path to victory. Filled with references to video games, movies, comics, and other related media, along with 8-bit art work that brings nostalgic feel to the game, Boss Monster is highly replayable by players of all ages.
As a standalone card game with 155 cards, Boss Monster contains everything that 2-4 players need to play. Additional expansions add more characters, tropes, references, and mechanics to the game adding to the base release. Come to the tabletop area and have some fun learning about this game on Friday at 3:00 PM.
Pathfinder began as an extension and modification of the 3.5 version of another classic pen and paper fantasy game. Nearly a decade old, Pathfinder has made its mark in tabletop fantasy gaming as having its own distinct look, community, expansions, spin-offs, and modifications. Being released under the Open Game License, the base game is available in PDF editions with nice published books and sets available. Our event will be focused on learning the basics of a game to help everyone get started with this cool game. If you have ever been interested in learning a fun fantasy game focused on strategy, storytelling, community, and using one’s imagination, this is an event you will want to attend on Friday at 9:00 PM.
